The Raw Convertor app, which can batch convert ProRes RAW into CinemaDNG format for native raw workflow in DaVinci Resolve, just got an update to v6.0.0 that makes the app available on iOS (iPhone 15 Pro, 16 Pro, and Apple silicon iPads). Furthermore, Raw Convertor now supports per-camera statistics, resume feature, video details view, automatically saved conversion settings, proxy workflow, and more.
The year is 2025, and we still do not have native ProRes RAW support in DaVinci Resolve (and it is unclear when or if we will get it). As more and more cameras start supporting internal ProRes RAW recording, I think this is something Blackmagic Design will have to address in the future. Before that happens, there are a few workaround options. In my opinion, one of the most elegant ones is the Raw Convertor app.
Initially launched in 2021, the Raw Convertor is a handy app that can convert a batch of ProRes RAW (or PRR HQ files, including audio) into CinemaDNG (uncompressed, 3:1, 5:1, or 7:1) so that users can open these in DaVinci Resolve and still be able to adjust raw metadata such as white balance or exposure.
The last time we reported on the app was back in 2023 when the creators launched their Windows version. Since then, there have been multiple updates, and the recent one to version 6.0.0 is rather significant, so let’s take a look at what is new.

Raw Convertor version 6.0.0
Since we last reported on the Raw Convertor, there have been numerous updates. Before we get to the current version, previous updates introduced features such as:
- faster transcoding
- CinemaDNG 4:1 compression option
- proxy workflow support – you can generate CinemaDNG files at half or quarter resolution
- offline mode
- support for 32-bit float audio
- support for new camera models (the complete list of supported cameras can be found further below)

The new update version 6.0.0 brings the following new features and improvements:
- All conversion settings (like crop tags, quality, etc.) are now saved automatically between sessions
- Added per-camera statistics so you can see how many files come from each camera
- New Resume feature – Raw Convertor can now automatically skip already converted files and continue where it left off
- Now Available on iOS – Raw Convertor now runs on iPhone 15 Pro / 16 Pro and Apple Silicon iPads
- Get notifications on iOS when a conversion on your Mac finishes or encounters an error
- Tap into a new Video Details view to see metadata like timecode, creation date, and more
- Added support for Fujifilm X-M5 (again, the complete list of supported cameras can be found below)
- Various UI/UX improvements for a smoother and more intuitive experience

Price and availability
The app itself can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store, but for full functionality, you will need to purchase the full license (in the form of an in-app purchase). The free version can convert 300 frames of footage so you can test it with your camera and try the workflow before you buy. The paid license for unlimited conversion costs between $75 and $80 per camera.
